No "Format" option when Sansa player is right-clicked under My Computer
Why isn't there a "Format" option when I right-click my Sansa player under My Computer?
SOLUTION 1 - Check if the player is in MTP mode.
If the PC has Windows Media Player version 10 or 11 installed, the Format option may NOT show up when the device is detected as a portable device.
To format your Sansa player through My Computer, follow these steps:
WARNING: Formatting will delete all files in the device. Backup all your data before formatting.
1. Connect the Sansa player to the PC.
2. Under My Computer, double-click on your Sansa player.
3. Right-click Internal Memory, select Format.
4. In the Format dialog box, click OK.
5. Format starts.
6. Click OK after formatting is completed.
SOLUTION 2 - Switch the player to MSC mode, and then format.
